Corporate Accounting and Treasury Departments Help Habitat for Humanity

The team in Flatiron’s Colorado District has immense pride in working in such a beautiful area, one where our company has its roots. They also feel a sense of responsibility to help others in the Centennial State community.

This summer, members of the Corporate Accounting and Treasury departments teamed up on a project for Habitat for Humanity. The team went to Boulder, just north of Flatiron’s corporate headquarters, to help build affordable housing. Volunteers leveled gravel and installed vapor barrier in and around the foundations of three homes.

Accounting Manager Zach Tenore organized the project.

Assistant Treasurer Aracely Hobday said the day was demanding but rewarding. “Walking away from a project physically drained and seeing our progress felt like a real accomplishment,” she says. “When you looked around the project you could see both teams work at the same pace of physical effort, it was an opportunity for the group to appreciate one another and sharpen the ability to collaborate.”

The volunteers also said they gained an appreciation for the job level work that is required to make a project successful.
