Flatiron’s I-710 Pavement Rehabilitation and Bridge Widening Project Wins Contractors Excellence Award from Construction Management Association of America

At the SoCal 29th Annual Awards Gala, the Construction Management Association of America awarded Flatiron the Contractor’s Excellence Award for its work on I-710 in the Los Angeles area.

Starting work in 2018 and in partnership with Caltrans District 7, the Flatiron team completed the project 18 months ahead of schedule—managing challenges and tight work windows to limit impacts on drivers and the operations at BNSF’s Hobart Intermodal Railyard. The project covered a 3.5-mile stretch of I-710 where crews rehabilitated and replaced pavement on all north and southbound lanes between Bandini Boulevard and the I-5/I-710 interchange. The team also widened the Hobart Yard Bridge in both directions over 18 active rail lines.
