Georgetown Wet Water Treatment Station Featured on Seattle’s KING-TV

Seattle’s KING-TV news ran a news story on Flatiron’s Georgetown Wet Weather Treatment Station on Dec. 13, 2022. Reporter Connor Board spoke with the deputy director of the Wastewater Treatment Division and toured the facility.  

Board reported, “The deputy director of the wastewater treatment division says the new $259 million facility will take that [stormwater] overflow from pipes during big rain events and filter it before it gets to the Duwamish River and ultimately Puget Sound.”  

Located in south Seattle, Washington, the project includes constructing a combined sewer overflow wet weather treatment station, related pipes, and a new outfall structure to release the treated water into the nearby Duwamish River. The project expects to complete in spring 2023.
