On sunny October 16, a lunch celebration was held for the opening of Runway 17L-35R at the Denver International Airport (DIA). Approximately 70 to 80 Central Division employees, project subcontractors, and DIA representatives celebrated the efforts of the project team members for their hard work and dedication to complete this fast-paced $35 million bid-build project.

“I’d like to thank the entire project team and everyone who assisted with this project for their hard work! This was a challenging project, and we should be proud of the effort everyone gave to complete on time,” said project manager Mike Blasi.

In just 100 days, this project team completed the pavement and lighting rehabilitation project that included 160,000 square yards of concrete pavement removal, new runway and taxiway lighting, and new concrete pavement.
