Flatiron airport market takes off in Texas
Broomfield, Colorado (October 17, 2018) – Flatiron Construction Corp., one of the largest infrastructure contractors in North America, was recently awarded a contract for the Rehabilitation of Taxiway WA at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas valued at approximately $51MM.
The airport’s plan includes the rehabilitation of Taxiways WA and WB at a combined estimated value of approximately $110MM. “Step one is the successful completion of work on Taxiway WA which gives Flatiron the opportunity to demonstrate—in action—our ability to deliver on our commitments. It’s an important part of earning the trust of airport officials and further solidifying our presence in Texas,” said Eric Taylor, Senior Vice President, Central Region. Construction is anticipated to commence in mid-October and wrap-up in the summer of 2019.
Flatiron has successfully completed multiple airport projects, both landside and airside, including construction and rehabilitation of roadways and bridges, concourse and apron improvements, and taxiway/runway rehabilitation. With over $1.4B in aviation project experience under its belt, Flatiron continues to prove itself as a partner and contractor of choice when it comes to improving airport infrastructure. Flatiron’s work is visible at airports in Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver International Airport, LAX, and Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
