From Colorado to California, Flatiron’s hard work is earning accolades.

The Colorado Contractors Association (CCA) awarded the team of the I-70 Eagle Interchange Project the Project Management Award – Over $10 Million Category. On March 16, a CCA celebration for the achievement was held at the Holiday Inn Denver-Cherry Creek. Project Manager Mike Blasi and Construction Manager Scott Stetson accepted the award.

The $18 million project, located along Eby Creek Road in Eagle, Colorado, was completed in late 2014. It involved replacing five consecutive interchanges with roundabouts, as well as widening an existing bridge over Eagle River, constructing two new pedestrian bridges, and building nine retaining walls.

Also in Colorado, the Weld County Parkway Project team received an Excellence in Concrete Pavement Award from the American Concrete Pavement Association’s Colorado/Wyoming chapter. That award was presented at the chapter’s annual concrete pavement workshop on May 17 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Stapleton. The parkway officially opened in November 2015.

For our work in California on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge New East Span Skyway, Flatiron received a 2015 “Bridge Award of Excellence” from the Texas-based American Segmental Bridge Institute. The award acknowledges work which exemplifies “concrete segmental bridge design and construction excellence,” according to the institute.

FCI, Kiewit, and Manson made up the joint venture for this project, whose bridge comprises four interconnected structures. All concrete segmental or cable-supported bridges in the U.S. that were finished between January 1, 2013 and August 1, 2015 were eligible for the award. Six projects were selected.

Congratulations to all our award-winning project teams!
