B2P Receives Prestigious Awards

Bridges to Prosperity received two awards for their commitment to positive social impact and sustainability. Flatiron has had a long-standing partnership with the Denver, Colorado-based nonprofit, working together to build footbridges in poor communities worldwide.

Bridges to Prosperity (B2P) was the recipient of the 2016 Classy Awards: designated as one of the world’s 10 most innovative social impact enterprises, selected from 1,300 applicants and 100 finalists.

The award recognizes organizations that address the “incredibly complex and equally severe problems we face today,” including global poverty, hunger, disease, and disaster response and preparedness. B2P, which works with isolated communities to build footbridges over impassable rivers, constructed its 200th footbridge with a Flatiron team in the La Dalia region of Nicaragua this year.

A list of winners and finalists — “the most innovative nonprofits and social enterprises of 2016”— can be reviewed at this link. A video about B2P’s mission can be seen here.

B2P was also the recipient of the prestigious 2016 Ashden Award. The award recognizes organizations that support sustainability, especially community sustainability solutions.

Flatiron is a key supporter of B2P. Our workers have provided their time and expertise to build several bridges for the organization.
