Flatiron Hosts Summer Interns
Flatiron’s intern program offers hands-on experience for interns looking to apply academic training in a real-world setting.
This summer, Flatiron is hosting interns across the company.
The intern team in northern California kicked off the summer with a job tour of the Presidio Parkway project. The rest of the summer will be packed with on-the-job learning experiences as well as some fun team-building activities, including an intern rodeo. In San Diego, there are four interns spread between field operations and estimating.
Flatiron Canada is in full swing and students are fully immersed into daily operations. In Canada, Flatiron is hosting 22 interns from across the country, all working in engineering and business management positions. For example, the intern team from North East Anthony Henday project (pictured) is being exposed to construction activities such as steel and concrete girder erection, rebar coordination, earthworks, deck work, abutment work, substructure work, traffic and utilities coordination.
In the Civil Division, Flatiron has four summer interns – two in the Southeast, and two in Colorado. The two in Colorado interns are rotating through each department—engineering, estimating and operations—to get a well-rounded work experience.
