WIC 2021: Sixty Seconds of Wisdom from Smoot Construction’s Chrystal Stowe

Gotta minute? We recently had the pleasure of hosting Chrystal Stowe, director of community affairs and business development for Smoot Construction of Washington, D.C. In honor of Women in Construction Week, this video is 60 seconds of wisdom that she shared with Flatiron employees. In its 75th year, the minority-owned Smoot has grown from a modest masonry subcontractor to a full-service construction company.

In her two decades in construction, Stowe has developed a strong reputation as a thought leader on minority business development and diversity in hiring. The Washington Business Journal named her one of the Washington area’s “most influential professional women of 2020.” The former television news anchor has received a number of other accolades including the Outstanding Service Award by the D.C. Department of Small and Local Business Development.

Enjoy and we hope everyone is having a positive and reflective Women in Construction Week 2021!
