Oso Parkway Project Makes Major Traffic Switch

In Southern California’s Orange County, Flatiron achieved a significant milestone at our Oso Parkway Project—three years in the making!

In late May, the team completed this major traffic switch to begin construction of the second phase of the La Paz Undercrossing (above). To reach this point, Flatiron has constructed four new bridges and multiple retaining walls. The new bridges have opened for traffic, allowing vehicles to move safely about the area.

This new phase of construction allows for the demolition of the second stage of the outdated La Paz Bridge.

Project Manager Michael Armienti said his team is remarkable: “We have the unique ability to see a problem and quickly come up with a solution for the project’s good. It’s a proud moment for all of us.”

The Oso Parkway Project is adding a host of infrastructure improvements along this busy stretch of I-5— general-purpose lanes, safer intersections, and enhanced ramps.
