Fredericksburg Extension

The Fredericksburg extension project will elongate the I-95 Express Lanes in Stafford County approximately ten miles south of Route 610. An additional point of access to the new I-95 lanes will be constructed by the Route 17 and Route 630 interchanges. Once completed, this new roadway will alleviate much of the congestion that the area currently experiences and will greatly reduce travel time for commuters and residents.

Roadway additions will include two reversible, high-occupancy toll lanes to be built in the existing median of I-95.

Finished roadway will present a greater variety of travel options including increased attractiveness of rideshare and transit use and a bypass option for vehicles with multiple occupants.
